Captain John Turner and his Sevant, Peter McGee

Researching the family story about how my great-great grandfather (William H. Cameron) was captured by Confederate Capt John Turner and his border rebels in Southwest Missouri. Pvt Cameron and his son, Joseph were moving cattle for a friend at the time of the capture. Willam was on medical furlough with Missouri 24th Infantry (fought in Battle of Pea Ridge) and Joseph may have been with Missouri 21st Infantry. There is no military service records on Joseph (age 11 at the time). Neither one of these descendents of mine were able to get any pension out of the government. My research on Turner and McGee may bring in some more information, or least, I hope so.
Thank you
Paul
