Two sources I have read were: "A History of the 15th Missouri Cavalry Regiment, C.S.A." by Jerry Ponder, published by Ponder Books in 1994 and is available from Camp Pope. Information is also found in "Ripley County, Missouri History and Heritage" published by Acclaim Press in 2007 and is available from the Ripley County Historical Society. By the way it is a great source of information on Ripley County. Information found elsewhere on this discussion board provides basically the same or more information than what is found in either book on this particular skirmish. Having grown up less than a mile from the site, I too have a great interest in this particular skirmish.
