Re: Contraband Soldiers - USCT in Missour

Oh, I don't doubt it. In fact, I reckon my old Great Great Grandpa had his man with him from start to finish. If he didn't, he wanted him.

I ain't tryin' to make any statements about "the cause". I'm just trying to do something right for them that served the USA in the name of freedom. I've gone to events all over and I can't honestly say I've ever seen an African-American Civil War Re-enactor. Blue or Grey. And that ain't right. As far as I see it, them people have got as much or more to celebrate during this upcoming sesqui-centennial as just about any of the rest of us. Their ancestors were ... there.

If I had five or six young black men who would participate in a re-enactment, how could I get them outfitted. A kit ain't cheap. Are there philanthropic organizations that would contribute money to help make that a reality? How do I go about contacting them?

Does anybody know anybody that might be willing to work with me on this project. I'm gonna do it. Ya'll can call me the Colonel Shaw of Missouri if you want too. I'm gonna do it.
