She was born 13 Sep 1821 in Logan Co., KY. He married (2) SARAH ELIZABETH NORRIS 25 Apr 1877 in Logan Co. KY. She was born 08 May 1857 in Edgefield , TN.

"The Russellville Ledger, Wednesday, December 2, 1891 Town Crier" Mr. Hite's Death
Major George B. Hite died at the residence of his son, George T. Hite, in Adairville of pneumonia, last Tuesday, November 24th. He was seventy-six years of age. He had been a merchant and farmer nearly all of his life, and at one time was one of the wealthiest men in the county. In 1878 he lost heavily speculating in tobacco and was forced to make an assignment. His creditors were not hurt, however, as he paid dollar for dollar and had a good home left. He was a man of remarkable energy and of remarkable health, and was never confined to his bed with sickness during his life, until the attack pneumonia which ended his earthly career. The funeral services were conducted by Reverend I. W. Emerson, after which the body was laid to rest in the Adairville Cemetery.

Nancy was the 6th child of this family. Nancy was the aunt of Jesse and Frank
James. Her brother Robert Sallee James was the father of Jesse and Frank.

Her husband remarried in 1877.

Two of her sons rode with Jesse's gang, her 5th child, Robert Woodson "Wood"
and his younger brother, Clarence Browder (Bowler), the 11th child. He may
have used the alias, Jefferson Davis Hite.

Notes for ROBERT WOODSON HITE:
The Louisville Courier-Journal of Louisville, Jefferson, KY reported that Wood was killed by Richard (Dick) Liddil and Robert (Bob) Ford,on a farm owned by Mr Harbison, formerly of Shelby County, KY.

He and his brother Clarence Broder or Bowler (who may have been named Jefferson
Davis or used that name as an alias) both rode with Jesse James gang.

Wood was killed because he witnessed his step-mother making love with Dick
Liddel and threatened to expose them. His body was found in a ditch where
he had been rolled and covered with snow behind his father's farm in Logan
County KY. A detailed story will be in a book about the James family by Linda Snyder.

PART OF THE JAMES GANG. Wood Hite participated in the Glendale, Missouri train robbery. He was killed by fellow gang member Dick Liddil in 1882.
