I recently purchased a Ballard Carbine with the name G W McCluer etched in the reciever. It was represented as ID'd to George McCluer of the 39th Missouri, Co D. Does anyone have information as to whether there was a George W McCluer in the 39th? The only thing I have seen so far as to armaments is that some of the 39th carried Enfield muskets. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks
