Thanks. I believe he is the Charles Beal MSG on fold3.com in Co. D 3rd Cavalry whose Capt. was _______ McCampbell. Beal served 2 months 23 days, he living in Perry Co., Mo. at the time. His brief MSG CMSR (all of them brief) & the info you provided jives with the Goodspeed source I mentioned. I have been downsizing my CW library and sold my MSG books for others to use. I did find a few men from the 3rd Mo. Cav, MSG in Co. E 2nd Mo. Cav. when I researched my book. What I have are 2 carte s dating from ca. 1880 possibly when he married his second wife Amelia in 1879 taken in Ste. Genevieve. Bob
