Limited luck finding anything further. Tidbit in Obit says he served with M Jeff Thompson in 1861 which would infer 1st Infantry (not cav) MSG. I am not finding him listed anywhere on a roster or other record.

Oct 1992 has him running for Sheriff in Ste. Gen county on the Democrat ticket.
