I am looking for some kind of proof, if it exists, if they robbed the bank in Ste. Genevieve on or about May 27, 1873. I know it is after the Civil War but figure there are some James gang experts out there. The reason I would like proof is because I am trying to get permission to put up a plaque and on the plaque it deals with the taking of the money out of the Merchant's Bank in Ste. Genevieve on 15 Aug 1861 and the James gang robbing the same bank on 27 May 1873. They want me to put on the plaque that it is rumored that it was the James gang.
