Steve, some towns that were totally or at least partially destroyed include Baton Rouge (during the battle and then looted), Lake Providence (flooded by Grant's canal projects); Richmond (parish seat of Madison P. burned during Vicksburg Campaign); Grand Ecore (Red River port of Natchitoches), Campti, and a few buildings in Natchitoches and Cloutierville (burned during Red River Campaign); and Trinity (modern-day Jonesville, shelled by Union gunboats).
