Re: Washington Artillery Burial

Matthew: The burial information is all I have. Perhaps someone in the Central Georgia area can give you some information on how he came to Georgia, from Natchez and then through Louisiana, or at least a Louisiana artillery unit. I am of the impression that the (Louisiana) Washington Artillery was raised primarily from the New Orleans area. Am I correct or not? I mention the Louisiana designator, becasue there was a Washington Lieght Artillery which was raised from Charleston. It was first commanded by Captain Stephen D. Lee (later Lieutenant General), and later became known as Hart's Horse (or Flying) Artillery, in the Cavalry Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia.
