Thank you so much. It then appears to me that this William Kempe is indeed the man who stabbed Amon Morris in October 1863 as Kempe was paroled at the end of the war. Further is was a soldier in the same Battalion as Amon. This will help me follow up on William. Are you related? Amon is my 2nd great grandfather.
