Is there a site or repository that might have a listing of weapons issued to the 2nd Battalion Massachusetts Cavalry? They participated in the Battle of Baton Rouge, well, one company did and this company (B) was later merged into the 3rd Massachusetts Cavalry which was all over Port Hudson and outlying areas. I have the serial number of a Sharps carbine that was dug in Baton Rouge that may have been issued to someone in this unit but not exactly sure how or where to search. This weapon is now a part of the collection at Camp Moore. Thanks for any help.
