The ammo could been Selma , they did make small arms ammunition there, .Hood went through Alabama , turn north and crossed the Tenn,.River at Florence Ala. Yes this is guess , now for as weapons who knows. The South used everything that they had . Cook Rifles were less than 1,000 , in New Orleans , and 7,000, in Athens. Reference "Confederate Longarms and Pistols " by Richard Taylor Hill and William Edward Anthony . This an excellent book on Confederate Arms. Also Dr. Murphy's books and course Albaugh .
