Vivandiere

The Richmond Times Dispatch reported in 1903 that a Louisiana vivandière was the only woman buried with the 12,000 Confederate soldiers in the city’s Hollywood Cemetery. “She made the camp and march merry for the men when alive, and dying, chose to be buried with her comrades. We dare say there is material there for a good story.” Unfortunately, the reporter did not give her name. Does anyone know who she was and with which unit she served?
