The Louisiana Monument
Monument Square in down Vicksburg contains several Monuments, including;
The Louisiana Monument honoring the Confederates who dies in the Defense of Vicksburg.
A World War I Monument.
A World War II Monument.
A Korean Conflict Monument.
(Not certain about Viet Nam, simply do not know.)
& a monument honoriing Purple Heart Receipants.

It is commonly reffered to as "The Rose Garden."
Several / Many beautiful Rose bushes are interspersed and maintained by the Vicksburg Garden Clubs. A Beautiful place. And the Louisiana monument was first.

And also, it should be reported that the Mayor of Vicksburg declines to fly the MIssissippi State Flag over it. As you know the Mississippi State Flag contains the Confederate Battle Emblem.
