I found several contradicting facts about the wounding of Col. Mouton at Shiloh and I'm trying to seperate fact from fiction.
1- Does anyone know the exact gps location as to where this wounding occurs ? Col. P. Ponds stated it was defending the church on the second day's battle, possibly around mid-late afternoon.
2-Mouton develops an eye infection and is sent to New Orleans before returning to Ille Copal (Gum Island) Vermilionville,La. Does he go to New Orleans by boat from Cornith,Ms. ?
3- Some reports state he was wounded over the right eye, some say left eye, one said it was a facial wound,who is correct ?
