In the LSU library special collection, the papers of John Moore MSS 2973, contain a letter dated Feb 22, 1866 concerning a claim by Col William Offutt of New Orleans against the federal government for lumber taken during the war.
From descriptions in the Official records it appears that Offutt's Mill was on Grand River in Iberville Parish. If I had to guess I would say near Jack Millers Store in today world.
