Terry & George,
A letter accompanies the Req. It basically asks the QM to
give Shmulders a "Battle Flag" for the 8th. with the paperwork
to follow at a later date. The letter is dated Sept. 8, 1863 and
the Req. Sept. 10, 1863.
Apparently the Chaplain had some business in Richmond and
picked up the needed flag.
I've never seen another instance like this one.
