Re: Kisatchie Road Red River Campaign

I believe that it would be near Mora on State [?] 118 which runs West to Kisatchi as the Kisatchie - Mora Road

……

HEADQUARTERS DISTRICT OF WEST LOUISIANA,

Near Carroll Jones', March 21, 1864-9 p.m.

. . . This line however, must be made strong enough to communicate any information obtained across to these headquarters on the Kisatchie road as well to Natchitoches. Every movement of the enemy must be communicated promptly. . . .

OR Serial 061 Page 0503 Chapter XLVI. THE RED RIVER CAMPAIGN.

………

Source: America in the Civil War- list the location of Carroll Jones place as slightly South of the town of Hineston...
Source: A good Home For A Poor Man Ft. Polk-Vernon Parish 1800-1940 list Carroll Jones place as 15 miles above Hineston slightly inside Vernon Parish at it's border with Rapides Parish ...this same source shows a map of Carroll Jones place on both sides of the Burrs Ferry Road.
Some of my research indicates Carroll Jones may have had a Stagecoach Stop near the present day town of Mora, La.
