From the northern intersection of La. Hwy 1 and La. Hwy 114 (north of Marksville, not down at Hamburg), go north up Hwy 1 a mile or two until you reach the Rapides-Avoyelles parish line. That's pretty much right on the junction of Dunn's Bayou and Red River. Eight Medals of Honor awarded for actions at that spot, probably more MOHs per acre awarded there than any other place in Louisiana.
