Toussand's Cove seems to be the preferred spelling. The Jayhawkers worked and used the Grand Chenier Ridge along the Mermentau River as their raiding and traveling route. The ridge ended west of Grand Chenier and sort of dropped off into no man's land of swamps and water ways. This is only an educated guess but I believe Toussand's Cove to be somewhere west/northwest of Grand Chenier or where the Grand Chenier Ridge ended.
