From Grand Cheinier, what direction and distance are we talking about ?
Are any landmarks there today ?
It appears spelled two different ways-Toussand and Toussan Cove.
When Doctor Milledge McCall repoted this incident to the Asst. Adj. Gen. authorities at Sabine Pass, McCall cliamed that when he departed there that morning the fighting was still going on and that they had captured 9 jayhawkers and killed many more...at that time, being somewhat limited as to how far a man could ride in one day's time, I'm presuming it would be within a 20 mile radius of where McCall lived, Grand Chenier, or within a 20 mile radius of Sabine Pass.
Appreciate any information concerning this incident dated 3.7.1864.
