Correction, card No. 15 of his record show this as his name, Ely his/x/mark McDaniel.

Apparently the War Department compiler must have had a bad night and incorrectly filed his 22 card record as Ely Mark McDaniel.

None of the other 20 cards in his file contain a middle initial/name.
