Captain Howard Dwight

Biography of Nathaniel Banks ch.39 p. 770 basically claims that Dwight was murdered under surrender near Washington,La on 5.4.63 while becoming separated from his company of men delivering a message from Gen. Banks. Gen Banks takes 100 hostages from the immediate area where the assassination occurs, holds them for several months, releasing them later when Mr. Glaisses is executed for his complicity in the murder of Captain Dwight.
Captain Howard Dwight is Union Gen. Wm. Dwight's brother...Howard is believed to be, at the time ,under Gen. Andrews Staff.
Some sources say Dwight was captured at Bayou Beouef, some say Opeluosas, some say Washington, (important to know what region Banks took the 100 hostages from) It was further found that another source claimed a Confederate General (?) advised Dwight was shot attempting to escape,by uniformed soldiers and Banks had no rights to be holding hostages.
Concerning the Captain Howard Dwight incident:
1-exactly where, how did the killing occur and by who ?
( The 100 hostages taken were from that area)
2-who is Glaisses and what was his role in this event ?
