captain joseph hebert

One of my ancestors of the civil war was Captain Joseph Hebert 10th La. Inf. Battn. Co.f formed 5.23.62 Camp Pratt. I was able to attain enough information about the company activities until Bisland.Following Bisland the company remains somewhat active ,although there is no specific mention of Captain Joseph Hebert after Bisland. The Company goes with Mouton as Cavalry upon his departure from Taylor at Vermilionville 4.17.1863. They return shortly following and in June participate in Jayhawking activities around Hineston,LA.. On November 14,1863, reconsolidation at Simmsport,La., Fournet and many of his officers resign their commands for various reasons. I have not been able to locate any concrete evidence that places Captain Joseph Hebert in the 10th. La. Battn. after Bisland. He was born 6.15.1828, died 2.24.1903, married to Aspasie Broussard. Both are buried at Broussard Cemetery at La Petite Anse, La.. I believe he resigned his command at Simmsport, but, I have nothing to support this this theory.
