Tom, I perhaps had been too quick to jump at the Josiah Benner farm. The image of the relics has a placard that states found at the "Benner farm" and evidently 1949. I maybe too quickly assumed the Josiah Benner farm where Hays's troops pushed 17th CT skirmishers across Rock Creek as they advanced straddling the Harrisburg Road. This seemed to fit well with the La breast plate and such and that it was definitely used as a hospital. What I failed to consider, however, was the Christian Benner farm at Benner's Hill which has the same Rock Creek flowing at its base but it is along the Hanover Road more east of town. I'm not sure that this farm was used as a hospital but is much closer to Nicholl's brigade location and well behind their lines so may well have been there. The article just does not give any more definitive location.
