thanks, it is my understanding that after the killing of mouton,35 union were slaughtered by advancing c.s.a. troops before their officers could stop them, and there are two stories as to whether mouton was shot through the chest, or through the back...not that it really mattered...years later 5 priest examined his body at St. John's (Lafayette,La.) before reburial and according to their reports, 5 holes were visible on his uniform on the chest...no mention of them being entry / exit wounds.In other matters, Morgan's Ferry on the Atchafalaya was the scene of a large amount of shirmishes.Exactly where,by today's landmarks, was tht ferry located ?
