And concerning the dead Yankees: Yes, they were disinterred and moved to Alexandria National Cemetery in Pineville. Apparently all of the Union dead from that area were moved around the same time, as there are lots of errors concerning who is who. Fort DeRussy casualties listed as Yellow Bayou casualties, and vice versa. Most of the Yellow Bayou casualties are under "Unknown" stones. There is a list of how many bodies/sets of remains were supposedly moved in the Quartermaster records, but I wouldn't put a whole lot of faith in its exact correctness.
