19th Louisiana flag

Ken, in 2006 you posted, "I have just received photographic proof that the
St. Andrew's Cross battle Flag of the 19th La. Inf.
had survived and was photographed in March 1897 during
a reunion at Shreveport.
Does anyone know what has since happened to this flag?"

The late Allan Richard responded that the flag had disappeared by the early 1930s.

I came across a 1922 newspaper article that describes a Battle of Mansfield commemoration held by the UCV's Camp Mouton. It says that H.W. Hoell, the regiment's color bearer, carried the flag in the procession. He apparently gave out and was replaced by Dr. J. F. O'Leary, a physician from Shreveport. You can find the article here:
