If you read between the lines of my last post, that's what I was saying. Go to cemetery and find his unmarked grave near another family member's grave, the one where the wooden cross has rotted away or the old stone has been removed. Or better yet find a blank grave space (an unmarked grave) between two of his buried family members. Tell the VA you have found his grave site. The "MUST HAVE" grave site question is answered. I still believe there is a record out there that gives his grave's location. Is the cemetery an old cemetery. Have you tried to see if the cemetery has any old records.
