Re: Lieutenant Edward Flood of the Pioneers

Lt. Flood, Early’s corps., was placed in charge of a Pioneer force made up from ten men taken from each division November 11, 1864 when in the lower Shenandoah Valley. They were subsequently involved in road and and camp maintenance activities.

Flood is mentioned on four occasions in Jedediah Hotchkiss’s, “Make Me a Map of the Valley, The Civil War Journal of Stonewall Jackson’s Topographer,” Archie P. McDonald, ed., Southern Methodist University Press, Dallas, 1989

I could not find a reference to Lt. Flood in any of the works on Early
