I will reply on paper - still await papers of final disbursement of estate of J H Darling. I did find birthplace VERMONT for James H Darling enlistment in 7th Louisiana, further evidence this is our JH. Why he changed from Jeremiah to James have no idea but it looks that way. Have him in Delia Honey ancestry (a long ago researcher of this family) as well as the old family letter, a nephew of JH Darling copied what his father (JH's brother) wrote of him dying that exact date in Harrisonburg. Thank you for your letter and the copy of one to Wichita. Many thanks for all - you will hear from us again. I am also interested in the grave marking to be correct for this Union soldier ...
