Very interesting, Wayne. I agree that the men probably would not have gone back onto the killing ground during Hood's attack to get Strong's body. By all accounts the brigade was badly disorganized and they probably were completely preoccupied with just trying to rally survivors. They might could have slipped in at night but considering there were 10 other bodies (possibly Tigers) buried with him, it seems more likely he/they were retrieved during one of the truces.

Little is known about Strong so I guess his burial is just part of the overall mystery of his life. Terry
