Re: Wingfield's 3rd Louisiana Calvary

I missed this posting when it first came out. I have information that I received from the Port Hudson State Park that Limon Thigpen of Co. A, 9th Battn La Partisan Rangers (the predecessor to Wingfields La Cavalry) died at Port Hudson on March 1st, 1863. There will be no grave marked. He is buried somewhere on that field. Sorry to be so late with this.
