The notation he died at Culpeper was found in a February 10, 1865 Company note. This most likely reflects the last
they knew of him before being admitted to the hospital in Charlottesville.

His records provide the following trail:

Admitted CSA Gen. Hosp., Charlottesville, Va. Apr. 5, Acute Diarrhoea Sent to Gen., Hosp. Lynchburg Apr. 23

Transferred to Lynchburg April 23

Surgeon's [Lynchburg Hosp. No. 2] certificate, recommends discharge for disability May 27

Gen. Hospital No. 2, Lynchburg, Va., May, Discharged from service May 30, 1862 By special order No. 124 A. & I. G. Office

Report of Sick and Wounded Lynchburg, July 1862 Date of death July 1, 1862
