Perhaps this comment would be more appropriate in the "News and Views" Forum, but I have always thought that, as the only one of the 50 states to ever have a citizen officially hanged by the US government for disrespecting the U. S. flag, Louisiana should stand firmly against the idea of an anti flag-burning amendment to the Constitution. I have no problem with the concept of someone severely beating anyone who would burn or show severe contempt for the American flag, but somehow, given what happened to Mr. Mumford, it just seems that the Louisiana Congressional delegation should stand opposed on principle to an official amendment.
