Alan, just a minor correction. The five divisions of the regular militia did not exist after February 1862. During the reorganization of the militia as a result of the 23 January 1862 militia act, the four of the five divisions were disbanded and replaced by four brigades of New Orleans militia and eight brigades of regular militia comprising the other Parishes. The 1st Division survived but was entirely comprised of volunteer militia.
