Samuel Fluitt appears on roll with Co "C", Harrison's 3rd Louisiana Cavalry. The record shows that he received a parole as a member of this command at Monroe LA, June 13, 1865. The parole lists him as a resident of Caldwell Parish LA. During 1863 Capt Faulkner's company served as Co "C", 15th Louisiana Cavalry Battn. Three companies were added to the battalion and it reorganized as a regiment in November 1863.
The regiment was known as Harrison's to distinguish it from Wingfield's 3rd Louisiana Cavalry Regt. Art Bergeron's book lists a number of fights involving the 15th Louisiana Cavalry Battn and Harrison's 3rd Louisiana Cavalry Regt.
Samuel B Fluitt moved his family from Williamsburg District SC to Caldwell Parish about 1859. According to the 1850 and 1860 census reports, he was born about 1826.
