Alan, I may be off base but I seem to recall one James Cosgrove who was a newspaper owner/editor in Natchitoches, LA. If correct, Northwestern State University Library, Cammie Henry Archives, Natchitoches, LA, has some material on him. Mary L. Wernet runs that archives and is always helpful. I cannot recall the name of the paper he ran but perhaps Natchitoches Intelligencer? I think it was a Democratic weekly, very much anti-occupation paper.
