I will be home early next week and will check my reference books (Casey, etc) for Camp Vauchene and get back to you, unless someone else does before then. In looking at Ovide Guidry's CSR, I think it may be Camp Vaucherie rather than Camp Vauchene. The handwriting of the War Dept. worker who did a couple of the cards is bad (elderly person?), but looking at the handwriting I do think it is more likely to be Vaucherie.

Is Ovide Guidry of the 2nd LA Cavalry the Ovide Joseph Guidry who was married to Jane or Jeanne Miller of St. Landry Parish?
