Karen:

Wonderful to know you are still out there! (It's wonderful to know that I'M still out there, these ancient days!)

I can call you or the reverse.

The best times to catch me are 7-9 PM weekdays.

My phone number (takes a long message) is 601.798.8208.

Email address is huffman1234@bellsouth.net.

I'm currently transcribing all of the service records for SSA, both as members of that unit and as part of Moorman's Cavalry Battalion (but only for those men who were first in the SSA).

I have found those of Lt. Coleman's letters which are contained in his Compiled Service Record (quite a nice surprise!), but don't know if there are others out there, including possibly letters from other members of the battery.

I'd like to compile as much info as possible for the members of our battery and especially my good friend who is springing for the complete cost of a cannon! (It's the least I can do for him, given the mega-bucks he's forking out for the piece!)

I'd be interested in any materials or leads you could share, as you seem to be the one person I've encountered who is most interested in this battery.

On a personal note, I have discovered that I have several cousins in the battery and possibly an uncle who became a captain of one of Moorman's companies created from the SSA.

Thanks! -- Jim Huffman, Picayune, MS
