Forgot to mention that Godfrey Gaisser did not, in fact, die during the war. He surrendered at Appomattox with the remnants of the Violett Guards and the rest of the 6th LA and lived a long life in New Orleans, LA. I hope to visit his grave at N.O.'s St. Louis Cemetery No. 2 before the holiday is over! -- Jim Huffman, Violett Guards
