Thanks so very much. General Gladden was my great grandfather ,Daniel M. Gladden's ,first cousin. His father was Minor Gladden who lived in Fairfield county, S.C. General Gladden was born there and was at one time Mayor, then he was in the Mexican War, after his wife died, he moved to New Orleans and was a Cotton Broker. When the war began, he hurried back to South Carolina, but the governor of La. asked him to come back to La. and he served his adopted state. General Gladden is buried at Mobile Alabama and General Bragg is buried very close to him there. The Curator at Shiloh should change the date of death, but he only said he had to have the original death certificate befire he could do so.
