Jim and Hugh, thanks for your kind comments. I've been reading the New York Times' "Disunion" series for some time and find it very good (and I have to admit pleasantly surprised for its even-handedness in telling both side's story). I contacted them and proposed two articles and they graciously agreed to run them. The second one will be in December and it will concentrate on the execution of two of Wheat's Tigers in December 1861 and how the Tigers earned their notorious reputation.
