In April of 1864 Border's Battilion was combined with Fulcrod's Battilion and became Anderson's Regt Tex Cav.
and order to releive Col Allan and the troops under him. In Aug 1864 Anderson's Regt was moved to
Camp Felder and then to Camp Groce which was a small POW camp only 2 companies where used in this.
Capt Henry Mosley was the commandant.
Camp Ford was guarded by members of the Texas Reserves for the remander of the war.
I have been researching Anderson/Border's Regt. since it was a non combat Regt very little info.
There was a couple of men from La. in it, Asst Surgeon M E Williams was from DeSoto Parish, he was captured at
Vicksburg, exchanged and paroled at Sheveport .
