Captured Union Flag within Six Miles of Grand Ecor

Correction to title of original posting "Within 6 miles of Grand Ecore" not exactly at Grand Ecore

In a 13-page letter dated May 9, 1864, Marksville, La. from Brigadier General Hamilton P. Bee to Lt. Col F.R. Lubbock, Asst. Adjt. Wharton’s Cavalry Corps, in the W.T. Mechling Sub-Collection, Dashiell Papers (Box 2D44), Center for American History, The University of Texas at Austin, there is a section about a Union scout.

" A scout sent out by the enemy on the 12th ( of April) was attacked
by a detachment of 25 men and routed, three prisoners,
horse, Company Flag, etc. being taken-"

I would like to know which Union group lost their flag and which Confederate group captured the flag.
