You will find a lot of information on the regiment & each of the companies, through the muster roll Record of Events for the regiment. These you can find in the Broadfoot series, Supplement to the Official Records. These volumes may be found in most major city and University libraries.

I went to the 1860 Massachusetts Federal Census. There's just too many Richard Barretts, born in Ireland, to tackle.
