Keary's Company, 8th Louisiana Infantry Regiment Volunteers* June 8, 1861 at New Orleans by Major Prados for the war, admitted to Receiving & Waysode Hospitla, Gen. Hosp. #9, Richmond, Va., October 13, 1862, "P. Houses Theumatism," absent without leave from July 13, 1863 through December, 1863,** paroled by the U. S. Govenment, n.d., n.p.

* This company subsequently became Company H, 8th Regiment Louisiana Infantry.

** No subsequent company muster rolls survived to be incorporated in these records. Thus, we do not know if he returned to his command
