Confederate burial and sites

I would like to know how your gggrandfathers grave site could be desecrated by selling the property then the new owners build
a new house over the graves. I always thought this was ilegal to do. This man was a Major in vol."co B" St mary parish.
His father fought in the Battle of New Orleans. Is this the way our forefathers were repayed for there service? I find it insulting
and cruel to the surviving members of the family. Bad enought he lost his lively hood and members of his family.I found out
it was a City counsel relative that gave the approval to sell and build on said property. Is there any thing i can do to get his
body as well as his wife my grand mother exzumed? And reinturned some where else? I think if the Indians can get attention
about there burial grounds i should be able to get the same. At least This happended years ago and i just found out thru research
into the family. I know the names of the guilty partys that did this and i intend on persuing it further.
