My great-grandfather was Jehu Axley b. 1862 in LA. At this time I believe his father was also a Jehu Axley b. abt 1818 in either MO or TN. I am not sure about the connection to the Illinois Axley's at this time, but what little research I've done seems to point to a relation between the LA and IL Axley families. I have gotten most of the census records and other info from Ancestry.com but I am not having much luck getting info on the elder Jehu. Hopefully I can locate some civil war records and answer a few questions.

I hate to admit it but I originally that Jehu being listed as "Union" was a misprint, I was unaware that there were US Louisiana regiments. Obviously I am new to family history research. Thanks again for the help.
